Date(s) - 13/01/2020 - 14/02/2020
On Tuesday, January 7th, the Centre for History of Art and Artistic Research of the University of Évora and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Alentejo inaugurate the exhibition POSTCARDS_Trilogy (2013-2016) at the Exhibition Gallery of Casa de Burgos (Rua de Burgos, n.º 5, Évora).
Patented to the public until February 15, 2020, the exhibition of visual and performance artist Eleonora Marzani is a collection of 42 video-posts, divided into three parts. In each video, a volunteer wears a special piece of clothing, which brings with it a set of suggestions and memories revealed in the texts attached to the video exhibits.
The project begins in the plain of Northern Italy, where the cycle of nature unfolds in the flat land.
The second part takes place on the island of Sardinia (Italy), where the relationship with time and space is different.
The third part [Postcards from the Unknown] was held in Alentejo (with the support of the Municipality of Évora, CHAIA, residence 2016 Atalaia Artes Performativas, Municipality of Almodôvar) in places whose identity seem unknown, erased by time or human intervention. The abandonment, the carelessness, the transformation make the places unfamiliar, despite being known.
Thus, the invitation to visit the exhibition POSTCARDS_Trilogy (2013-2016), a video performance project that explores different landscapes, from the agricultural to the urban, even the forgotten, as well as the individual relationship with the clothes, the landscape and the waiting, is made known.
