Microbiology in Portuguese Soils

Plants do not live or grow alone in a plant world. Millions of other organisms, whose lives depend on plants, contribute to this. Many phenomena occur at ground level, but also the proper functioning of the aerial part is fundamental to the whole system. There is a profound interdependence and inter-connectivity between spheres and organisms. We are going to understand the functioning of plants and their interdependence with the surrounding environment.

Agronomist Catarina Joaquim is passionate about soil, nature and agriculture integrated in the natural environment. Dedicated to the understanding, learning and dissemination of natural systems of fertility and health of soils and plants, she specialized in various methods of regenerative agriculture. Catarina graduated from University of Lisbon in 2000 with a degree in Agronomy. She is an expert in Biological Agriculture, Regenerative Agriculture, Organic Fruit production, Regeneration of Agricultural systems, and Regeneration of Soils and Fertility.

Maximum number of students: 20.

Course held in English and Portuguese, according to the participants.

 

Registrations will close on October 7th.

We encourage participants to arrive Friday afternoon, and leave Sunday afternoon or early

evening. Pick-ups and drop-offs from the Santa Clara-Saboia train station can be arranged.

€ 120 for the course

€50 for two nights (Fri/Sat) in a CLARA glamping tent underneath the stars (double occupancy)

€30 for 6 delicious vegetarian meals featuring local produce
