ARTE NON STOP
For one week, until February 9th, Mértola is the stage for several artistic initiatives aimed at all Mertosians:
The municipal initiative Arte Non Stop starts this Saturday with a singing workshop with Celina da Piedade in the town’s Central Café.
Also on Saturday, at 5:30pm, the inauguration of the “Art Shop” and “Oficina d’Artes” will take place, followed by the presentation of the programming of the “Oficina d’Artes Mário Elias 2020”. In the evening, in the Mother Church of Mértola, the concert with the Orquestra Clássica do Baixo Alentejo will take place.
On Tuesday there are coffee talks with Veiga Trigo talking about the artist Mário Elias, at 6.30pm at the Guadiana café.
The Museum of Sacred Art is the venue chosen for the conference “Art and Periphery //Aesthetic and Artistic Education: Educational Experiences”, which takes place on February 5th at 2pm.
ArtAçorda is a cultural and convivial moment around the traditional açorda alentejana and other snacks of the regional gastronomy and will take place on February 6th, at 19h00, at the Grémio Recreativo 1st December.
In the 2020 edition of Arte Non Stop there are films with conversation, such as “Pano da terra” by Tânia Costa Neves, on Friday night, at Cine-teatro Marques.
David Fonseca takes the stage at Cine-teatro Marques Duque on Saturday, February 8th, at 9:30pm.
The dance show “Beyond the Sea of Sofia”, by the Quorum Ballet, on February 9, closes the Art Non Stop of 2020.
