The FESTA DA SEMENTE is an regional seed festival happening annually in Vale de Santiago. This year, in 2021, with the 10th Seed Festival not being able to take place physically, the organizers creates online offers and a local seed exchange market for the month of March.

Embracing Change

At this moment of time, we have an incredible opportunity to see what really matters. In a year where everything has become a continuous change, we remember that nature is like that: always changing, searching for the new balance, with greater complexity.

We can recognize the importance of the links between people, animals, plants present in the territory – what we can call the importance of community. We can recognize the importance of deepening and spreading the knowledge of cultivating the land for the benefit of all beings – those who are here and those who will come. We can recognize the importance of autonomy with the persistence of caring for the seeds – that nourish our healthy physical bodies and the seeds that nourish a free spirit. We can recognize that often things as tiny as seeds are so essential to life!

Festa Da Semente – Program 2021

In the service of an ever more autonomous and resilient regional community, we will create the 10th Seed Festival this year.

Due to the current circumstances, there will be no face-to-face gathering of the regional seed community but the ‘seed savers’ have created special offers for the Festa da Semente to still be a moment of seed exchange and to continue sowing Hope, Renewal and Abundance.

  • An Online conversation: POLITICAL AGRO-ECOLOGY – what is it and what does it sow? by GAIA Alentejo (26th March – date to be confirmed) Registration: augurios(@)protonmail.com

The Organizers and Souls of the 10th Seed Festival are the #Seed Savers Mariana, Lilian, Rita, Pati, and Laure
